Planning portable toilets for an event

Weddings, festivals, sports days and building sites all need toilets planned properly. Here's what to work out before you ring.

Before you book

Have answers to these and the call takes two minutes:

  • How many people, roughly, at the busiest point of the day.
  • How long it runs. A four-hour party and a two-day festival are very different jobs.
  • Whether drink is being served. Expect more visits, and allow for it.
  • Where it is. A field, a marquee, a yard or a site, and how a vehicle gets in.
  • Who's coming. If wheelchair users are attending, plan for an accessible unit.

Where the units go

  • On firm, level ground. Units need to sit level and steady.
  • Close to your guests, but not right beside the food or the dance floor.
  • Where the tanker can reach, if the units will need servicing during the hire.
  • Somewhere that will be lit after dark, if the event runs into the evening.

Servicing

For long events and multi-day hires, units are emptied, cleaned and restocked while they're with you. Mention the dates and hours when you book, so servicing can be planned around the busiest times.

Building sites

Building and works sites need welfare facilities for the crew, usually for weeks or months. Long-term site hire includes regular service visits. Tell us how many are on site and how long the job runs.

Booking

Summer weekends and wedding season are the busiest times, so ring as early as you can. Ring Ryan on 085 195 6808, or use the quote builder to send your event details in one go.
