FAQ
Grease trap cleaning: your questions.
How often should a grease trap be emptied?
It depends on the size of the trap and how much fat your kitchen produces. Uisce Éireann says to service it to the manufacturer's recommendations. We will look at yours and set a schedule.
Do I need a FOG licence?
If your business discharges fats, oils or grease to a public sewer, Uisce Éireann requires a trade effluent licence under Section 16. Their FOG team can advise on your premises.
What if it has already backed up?
Ring straight away. We will empty it and jet the drain if the fat has got further down the line.
